We’re currently looking for a Housing Options Officer on a fixed term contract until March 2025, you’ll be joining our amazing Housing Options Team on a full-time basis to help us support customers at risk of homelessness, delivering sustainable outcomes, which avoid crisis and make a lasting difference.

A bit about what you’ll get up to…
You’ll be working for a Team led by Hayley, our Housing Options and Homelessness Manager. Hayley’s Team delivers a number of statutory functions on behalf of the Council, relating to the management of the Councils Housing Register and delivering services to customers at risk of homelessness.
You will be the face of the service, ensuring you proactively deliver outstanding performance so that we can make a real and lasting difference. Through our outreach-based service model you will work across the borough to ensure the service is delivered in a way that is accessible, open and transparent and meets the needs of our customers, some of which may be facing a number of challenges.
Your approach will be bespoke, non-judgemental and empathetic to the needs of our customers.
If you think this all sounds good, then here is what we need from you…
To do this, you will have had experience of working in a social housing, homeless or customer facing setting and have had to conduct complex investigations, with attention to detail, solid organisational skills and the ability to make robust decisions.
Working knowledge of relevant legislation is essential, along with the interpersonal skills expected to effectively engage and support customers and colleagues.
