A bit about us…

South Tyneside Homes is a business that people want to work for, and with, so having a culture where people can thrive and enjoy work is important to both our vision and everyday approach.

Our agile and flexible working environment means that we can support you to get the right work/life balance so that you can be empowered, and so that you can get on with your job and deliver great results for our customers.

At South Tyneside Homes, we manage, maintain and improve 17,000 Council homes on behalf of South Tyneside Council, and staff are central to what we do and the services we provide. One of our company’s strategic objectives is to be an ‘employer of choice, efficient, and well governed’ and we aim to have a motivated, well trained, and diverse workforce to help us meet the needs of the business now and in the future.

South Tyneside Council commissioned an independent review of the housing and wider services that are currently carried out by South Tyneside Homes and has made the decision to bring all housing related services back under Council control. The move will include a TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment Regulations) transfer of all current staff employed by South Tyneside Homes and those recruited between now and when the transfer takes place.

We are looking for a self-motivated and willing Data Analyst Apprentice who is passionate about data, and people to join our service improvement team.

What is our offer?

We offer a starting salary of £19,114 per annum for a 37 hour week, and 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.

We also work flexibly so you will benefit from being able to split your time between working in the office, and at home if you wish to do so. We also work flexibly, so you also have the opportunity to take a further 12 flexi days per year depending on the requirements and demands of the role.

We also offer:

- A local government pension scheme where we will also contribute 12.6%
- Fantastic opportunities to support your health and wellbeing
- Opportunities to have your own say on how we develop services, with the staff forum and engagement sessions with our executive leadership team
- Access to affordable leasing options for cars and electronic goods

We will support you from the minute you get through the door, and you will get to meet the team, in the office, over a coffee, or however you would like. We will help you understand the organisation and housing, so that we can support you in getting to know both the workplace, and your colleagues. A planned induction will be in place, so that you can feel supported, but also you will have the chance to meet the people you will support surrounding the importance of data.

What will you get up to?

Working as a Data Analyst Apprentice, you will develop your skills, knowledge and experience working across South Tyneside Homes. You will receive a high level of on the job training, through people who operate within data, and gain valuable experience to enable you to complete your apprenticeship as a Data Analyst and to prepare you for an exciting career. Alongside this, you will study a level 4 apprenticeship, and you will be given your time for this study alongside your role as a Data Analyst Apprentice.

You will work with a friendly and vibrant highly motivated team that delivers a first-class service, to both colleagues and customers. You will provide work individually, where you will be empowered to work on your own workstreams, while being supported and empowered to do so, and you will also work with projects across the organisation to support excellent customer focussed delivery.

Our team includes the data and governance manager who will manage you, as well as the service improvement manager, and performance officer. Working together on projects, this is an exciting opportunity to help deliver our corporate goals on the data strategy, and to help change our approach to data.

If you think this sounds exciting, then here is what we need from you.

We are looking for someone who is personable, enthusiastic and willing to learn, and understands the importance of data and is technically minded.

You must be willing to learn, and to build relationships across the organisation, and have a passion for data, and using this to support service delivery, whilst taking responsibility for your own development, both on the job and for your study.

If you would like to know anything more about the role, we will be more than happy to have an informal conversation with you and to explain what the role would look like day to day and what the overall vision is. Please contact the Service Improvement Manager at connor.tighe@southtynesidehomes.org.uk and we will arrange a phone call where you can ask any questions, or to have a general conversation about the role.

If you are interested in this opportunity, we would love to hear from you, click ‘apply now’ and submit your application through the recruitment portal, with a CV and supporting statement outlining how you meet the criteria outlined in the person specification. Please anonymise your CV and your supporting statement, and as mentioned we are happy to answer any questions.

Interviews will be scheduled the week commencing the 29th April and if you have any specific requirements during the application or recruitment process, please let us know.
