We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Property Services Team as a Team Leader. Our Team Leader roles play a vital part in our service delivery, and you will be responsible for managing a team of construction trades ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, whilst delivering value for money and a customer-focused service.

You will assist in the management of the employed labour force, apprentices, trainees, agency and sub-contractors to provide an excellent service for the South Tyneside Homes residents and external clients.

You will be responsible to the Repairs Operational Manager, where you will lead, manage and motivate the staff to ensure all work is delivered on time and to budget, complying with STH policy & procedures and all current legislation, ensuring staff are safe and working to current health and safety regulations.

South Tyneside Council commissioned an independent review of the housing and wider services that are currently carried out by South Tyneside Homes and has made the decision to bring all housing related services back under Council control. The move will include a TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment Regulations) transfer of all current staff employed by South Tyneside Homes and those recruited between now and when the transfer takes place.

If you are a highly organised and enthusiastic team player with trade qualifications, we want to hear from you. You should have experience of managing a team, dealing with customer enquiries, and handling difficult situations. You should hold a full driving licence and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in pressurised situations.
